As for the fitting, it's a 1/2" right angle fitting, threaded on one side and barbed on the other. We're running out of fresh water, and with the government apparently intent on letting the oil industry pollute all ground water, every drop could become crucial. Having lived with the system for over a year now, we love it. It's made dealing with the composting system a LOT simpler and less effort. I can't imagine going to any other system.<br />Mungohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10484485549725839529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7702427911824410568.post-40446438511019980922019-03-26T17:45:19.604-04:002019-03-26T17:45:19.604-04:00You had a good idea with this cut bucket method. Not only can it be cheap, as you show, but it is far more ressource efficient than the flush toilet and water treatment plant. I think it is the future of sanitation, and you are contributing to it. Thank you for sharing a little of your genius with us.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7702427911824410568.post-41262190239447435512019-03-04T15:36:38.346-05:002019-03-04T15:36:38.346-05:00BTW Barbara, we just stuck all our composting toil...BTW Barbara, we just stuck all our composting toilet articles together into an Ebook (along with some additional material) and put it on Amazon. The one recommendation I would make is use a line for the diverter larger than the 3/8" ID that we used as things like wood stove pellets can too easily clog it. I would go up to at least 1/2" ID if possible. Other than that, it has worked splendidly.Mungohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10484485549725839529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7702427911824410568.post-8032108416913538542018-09-29T16:10:23.271-04:002018-09-29T16:10:23.271-04:00Thanks so much for posting this article, including...Thanks so much for posting this article, including pictures! I've been so tempted to purchase a urine diverter on Ebay that ships from the UK. Why is it that something so simple as a urine diverter is not easily and economically found in the USA? I was going to try to rig up a funnel contraption and attach it to the bucket, but after reading your article I'm going to try your method. Thanks again.
